Promised Land Menu

I sometimes enjoy seeing the FOOD MENU listed neatly and systematically in restaurants. We can order any food according to our tastes and desires. However, there are restaurants that are not sensitive to the tastes of visitors so they serve food that is not refreshing/appetizing.The deliciousness of the food not only lies in the abundance and luxury of the food. Sometimes when we go out for a fight we feel that the food we touch is different from what we are used to. So, it is not uncommon for people to like to eat out. Let’s examine the spiritual food we touch… whether it is appetizing or boring us?(Ribka Christ)

New Foods In New Lands

At that time there was a third new experience in the first week which was very memorable and occurred west of the Jordan River.

“Then on the day after the Passover they ate the produce of the land, namely unleavened bread and WHEAT, that very day. Then the MANNA stopped the next day.” (Joshua 5:11-12)

Joshua 5:11-12 New Living Translation (NLT)
The very next day they began to eat unleavened bread and roasted grain harvested from the land.
No manna appeared on the day they first ate from the crops of the land, and it was never seen again. So from that time on the Israelites ate from the crops of Canaan.Right away, the day after the Passover, they started eating the produce of that country, unraised bread and roasted grain. 12 And then no more manna; the manna stopped. As soon as they started eating food grown in the land, there was no more manna for the People of Israel.

Joshua 5:1-12 – MSG Do you still remember that for 40 years when the Israelites wandered in the desert, every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner they only had one kind of food – MANNA (Exodus 16:1-36). But it was fitting that they should eat such simple meals three times a day, the result of their own rebellion.

I still remember the time when I didn’t know and had not experienced personally what it meant to have Christ in control of my life. Even though I wanted to serve God, I was still walking in the flesh-“wandering in the wilderness.” Sometimes a pastor would read a verse from the Bible, Ephesians 6, for example, I would say, “Oh, no. Don’t talk about those weapons anymore. I’ve heard about that since I was a baby.”

Or if they would read about the prodigal son and I would say, “Oh, skip it, don’t talk about the stubborn son and the pig keeper again. I’ve heard 1,000,007 sermons about that.

In fact, there is very little that sounds new or fresh or alive to me. It all seems like something old and the same–MANNA, MANNA, AGAIN MANNA. Every pastor sounds like just the most boring person ever. stepped behind the pulpit.

If you are wandering in the desert, you are trying to please God with your own strength, then you are eating the simplest food, the MINIMUM. That can be quite boring. God intended to make the food quite boring because He never intended to let us remained in the desert.

If He had given us meat in the desert, perhaps we would never have felt hungry and thirsty for the Promised Land. If we had been satisfied with the bad, we would never have wanted the best from Him. Hebrews 5 states that we need to improve from the most basic things about Christianity-manna and milk are good for babies, they are good for spiritual sores (ulcers), but God wants us to progress to rice (solid) food. Eat meat instead! Let your teeth enjoy the meal the most delicious spiritual!

While the people of Israel were camping in the arid desert, God provided manna as their CONSTANT MENU-for forty years! But, the day after CROSSING THE JORDAN RIVER, they had to start using what was available on the land itself. Stubborn themselves, with surrendered hearts, worshiping God, and celebrating their redemption, they began to eat the good fruits of the Promised Land. They began to enjoy the fruits of a victorious life.

A Christian will not be able to begin to enjoy the Gospel until he understands that Christ lives within him. God does not expect him to be a spiritual giant, completely independent of his own efforts, full of devotion, praying for hours, and studying the Bible a lot; that is actually what is expected of him. God is nothing more than letting Christ within him, control him, fulfill him, and direct him.

Once we get to that place (spiritual wilderness), we may know the Bible thoroughly, but soon we become bored spiritually. We may know all the dispensations and can argue with anyone, but feel empty and dry and fundamentally (if we want to be honest) bored of everything. This is what I used to feel.

The Bible told me that I deserved this experience. If you are in a position like that, you also deserve it. But you don’t have to stay there, not even a day longer. You can get out of the spiritual wilderness and cross the Jordan directly. spiritually and begin to enjoy a new life spiritually.

What a change. Everything becomes new. Old Bible passages come alive. Of course you were a child of God even before you came out of the wilderness, but now you no longer have manna.

Menu Tanah Perjanjian

Makanan Baru Di Tanah Baru

Expect great things! Expect His mighty power! Expect Him to do what only He can do!

“Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; BORROW NOT A FEW.” – 2 Kings 4:1-4

The other day I was reading 2 Kings 4:1-7. It’s the story of the Widow’s Olive Oil. This widow came to the Prophet Elisha fearful because a creditor had threatened to take her two sons as slaves unless she paid the debt that she owed. Elisha asked her,”What do you have in your house?” (2 Kings 4:2).

7 Lessons from the widow with the olive oil

“Nothing except a small jar of olive oil,” she replied.

At that point, Elisha told her, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”

Once the jars were filled, Elisha told her to “sell the olive oil and pay your debts and there will be enough money left over to support you and your sons.”

She came to Elisha at her wit’s end – she was in desperation, and her back was against the wall. There are so many lessons here, but a few takeaways and my reason for this message is to encourage you with these

SEVEN LESSONS FROM THE WIDOW WITH THE OLIVE OIL

  1. When you are in “trouble,” seek Godly wisdom to gain a new perspective.
  2. Use what you have to get what you need.
  3. Sow where you want to go. This widow only had one small jar of olive oil. Yet, she was instructed to POUR IT OUT. Don’t be tempted to hold on to something because you can’t see where the next supply will come from. God’s math is different and He will multiply your seed if you trust Him.
  4. This poor widow woman became a distribution channel for the Kingdom of God with just one small jar of oil.
  5. She did not depend on just her own supply. She sought her neighbors and friends’ resources, and they invested in this new venture. Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
  6. She was quickly able to sell her product because she was providing something that everyone needed at the time.
  7. Even in the midst of her own problems, she was a solution. God gave her SUPERNATURAL ABUNDANCE, RESOURCES, AND PROVISION because she obeyed His Word.

In this widow’s indebted state, God made her an #entrepreneur. She used what she had, despite how weak/scared she felt, and the Lord turned her biggest misery into her greatest miracle, and He will do the same for you.

Be encouraged today. In your place of weakness, you will find your greatest strength – God.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Note

2 Kings 4:6

‘Bring me another vessel’ but they said ‘There is not another.’ Then the oil stopped flowing.

God’s blessing ended with the woman’s faith capacity not God’s power. If she had more jars the supply would have continued.

“Sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on the rest.”

God is generous and is overflowing with blessing.

God provided more than asked or thought (cf. Eph 3:20-21).

Oil was a staple commodity in biblical times, and still is. Oil is useful for all sorts of different purposes: lighting, heating, cooking, anointing, healing, even cosmetics: Psalm 104:15 commends the use of ‘oil to make the face shine’. A jar of oil was a definite asset. The Sunday school version of this story assumes it was a little jar, in order to emphasise the miraculous nature of what follows, and it may have been; but not necessarily. It could have been a large jar of oil, well capable in an entirely normal way of filling several smaller vessels. Whatever the size of the jar, Elisha sees it as replete with potential: an answer to the widow’s problem. As a man of God (which is how he’s repeatedly described) he believes God can stretch this asset to provide all the widow’s needs.

Notice the way he suggests she make use of this asset. She could simply have sold the jar as it was. But it’s unlikely that a single sale would have made her enough money to clear her debts, and it would have left her without any oil which she and her children needed as much as anyone else. So Elisha now gives his first piece of practical advice: ‘Go outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbours, empty vessels and not just a few’. The answer to the widow’s problems doesn’t lie with her alone; her neighbours have a role to play. After all, the Jewish law told people to care for the widows in their midst. They supply the vessels that she and her children fill with oil.

The woman produced a jar of oil that supernaturally increased, there is something that you have that you must release to God for Him to work upon. I pray the Lord open your eyes to see what it is. Today, I join my faith with yours and decree God is removing you from debt prone to the realm of abundance in Jesus name.

Prayer point: by the blood of Jesus, Lord cancel my debts and bring me to the realm of abundance in the name of Jesus.

2 Kings 4:1-7 New American Standard Bible – NASB 1995 (NASB1995)

Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD; and the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.” Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.” Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels at large for yourself from all your neighbors, even empty vessels; do not get a few. And you shall go in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour out into all these vessels, and you shall set aside what is full.” So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons; they were bringing the vessels to her and she poured. When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not one vessel more.” And the oil stopped. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons can live on the rest.”

2 Kings 4:1-7 The Message (MSG)

One day the wife of a man from the guild of prophets called out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead. You well know what a good man he was, devoted to GOD. And now the man to whom he was in debt is on his way to collect by taking my two children as slaves.” Elisha said, “I wonder how I can be of help. Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Nothing,” she said. “Well, I do have a little oil.” “Here’s what you do,” said Elisha. “Go up and down the street and borrow jugs and bowls from all your neighbors. And not just a few—all you can get. Then come home and lock the door behind you, you and your sons. Pour oil into each container; when each is full, set it aside.” She did what he said. She locked the door behind her and her sons; as they brought the containers to her, she filled them. When all the jugs and bowls were full, she said to one of her sons, “Another jug, please.” He said, “That’s it. There are no more jugs.” Then the oil stopped. She went and told the story to the man of God. He said, “Go sell the oil and make good on your debts. Live, both you and your sons, on what’s left.” * * *

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

2 Kings 4:1-7 New Living Translation (NLT)

One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, “My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the LORD. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.” “What can I do to help you?” Elisha asked. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied. And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled.” So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. Soon every container was full to the brim! “Bring me another jar,” she said to one of her sons. “There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing. When she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her, “Now sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over.”

KESEHATAN DIPULIHKAN

Apakah Anda mempertimbangkan keadaan Anda? Atau apakah Anda mempertimbangkan Tuhan Anda? Dia disebut “Aku Yang Agung.”

HEALTH RESTORED

“For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,” says the LORD.Jeremiah 30:17, NKJV

Too often we consider only what we can see and only where we are right now. We analyze and do projections based only upon the cold hard facts. But there are times when every circumstance and every report says, “It’s impossible,” and we have to determine to focus on God and His power to supersede what’s in the natural. The economy may be down, but God says He will prosper you even in the desert. Your account may say you will not meet up with the financial demands, but God says He will supply all of your needs. Your medical report may say your only option is to live with the sickness, but God says, “I will restore health to you.”

Are you considering your circumstances? Or are you considering your God? He is called “the Great I Am.” He’s saying, “I am everything you need. If you’re struggling, I’m your provider. If you’re worried, I’m your peace. If you’re in trouble, I’m your deliverer. If you need a break, I’m your favour. Look to Me, and I will show up and do amazing things.”

PRAYER STARTER:
“Father, thank You that You are the Great I Am with power to supersede any need I have. Thank You that I have Your promise that You will restore health to me when the facts say I have to live with a sickness. I declare that my focus is upon You to do the impossible. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: The impossibility specialist is on your case this season. God is turning your situation around, No matter the schemes of the enemy, your life and destiny will turn out to be a great one in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amos 9:13-14 (MSG)

“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree. “Things are going to HAPPEN SO FAST your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. EVERYTHING will be HAPPENING AT ONCE—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel: “They’ll rebuild their ruined cities. They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.” God, your GOD, SAYS SO.”
‭‭Amos‬ ‭9‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Amos 9 : 13

Amos 9:15 King James Version (KJV)
And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

Amos 9 : 13
Contemporary English Version
You will have such a harvest that you won’t be able to bring in all of your wheat before plowing time. You will have grapes left over from season to season; your fruitful vineyards will cover the mountains.
